Academy for Medical Training and Simulation

AMTS, the Academy for Medical Training and Simulation, a modern training centre in the fully reconstructed former Lucerne Women’s hospital («altes Frauenspital Luzern»). The building situated on the grounds of the Cantonal Hospital Lucerne includes an ultra-modern infrastructure which can be used by companies, medical organisations and clinics to conduct operation and emergency management courses.

The AMTS serves leading medical companies as an «independent platform» to visualise and analyse medical processes. To support the integration of technologies, the AMTS offers its partners the unique opportunity to cooperate on an inter-industrial level and thereby to develop new, innovative products.  

A completely equipped operating theatre, workshop rooms, a shock room with CT-simulator, an ICU as well as course rooms are arranged on an area of 2’000 m² and available for practical exercises. The high technological standard offered is completed by conference and convention rooms with the latest equipment as well as by an auditorium including video-conference and live transmission systems from the operating theatre.

The integration of the AMTS within the building complex of the Cantonal Hospital Lucerne encourages the exchange of ideas and experiences among the different clinics and allows for the demonstration of operations.

Furthermore, the AMTS offers a unique environment with high standard infrastructural possibilities for non-medical seminars, conferences, celebrations or cultural events.
